To some that is considered relatively young – to others, maybe not so much 👀
And tbh getting older used to bother me – but now I just accept it. I always feel that as long as you can say you are achieving good progress towards your overall goals then at least you are making the most out of the time you are given on this earth. You can’t change getting older, so why not focus on the things you can influence?
At least that’s my philosophy – but of course not everyone has to subscribe to that. Just do what makes you happy. Both in the short term plus also with one eye on the future.
And for me, what makes me happy is building/creating stuff as that's what I truly enjoy
Part of making progress on these fronts is learning what you need to know. And if you ask me, the more you know the better as it gives you the maximum chance to succeed. So, on that note, I’m sharing some stuff I learnt and/or had reiterated to me in 2024 in the hope someone out there might benefit… ➡️
- Say “yes” to the things that take you closer to your goals. Figuring out the specifics can come later if needed
- Learning/growing can be painful – if you feel this way sometimes its worth remembering it can be a sign you are making headway
- Too much cash in your bank account is a thing. If you ask me, it can represent missed opportunities… the trick is to get it working for you somehow. The more you know about finance/business is the more opportunities you can identify. It’s why being a continuous student on these subjects is so important
- (Related to above) Think twice before spending but think once before investing. Obviously not something to get too carried away with… but its worth pointing out that at least with investing you have a chance of seeing a return on your money. And the odds are good if done properly
- A healthy skepticism is a good thing, but try not to go through life being too cynical. This has hindered more people via opportunity cost than anything else imho. Having an open mind is a highly valuable trait
- Have mentors in areas in which you would like to improve. Benefitting from their experience is what will speed things up massively for you. The ninja stuff is to realise this knowledge stacks and actively pursue it
- Create space in your life for the people aligned with your goals and they will find you (…and sometimes to create that space we got to realise that not everyone is there for the long haul)
- Progress can FEEL slow, but its worth knowing things grow linearly at the start and exponentially with time. The first part must happen in order for the second part to occur… so keep going
- Be nice and keep as many people on positive terms as possible, you never know when you can help eachother out
- Understand how money works, it’s the greatest investment in knowledge you can make
- And last but not least, a powerful mantra for when you feel like you’ve bitten off a little more than you can chew is: “Its either gonna be one hell of a success OR one hell of a story” ❤
^^^ I try to remember this one when its necessary
Thank you for attending my TED talk… 🤣
But in all seriousness if this post helped at least one person out, then I’ll be a happy guy.
Please have a great Sunday eve – and lets make the year 2025 a great one 🚀
